Why Harley-Davidson® Tires?

We get a lot of calls from guests asking about tires. We all want to save money. We get it!

The Harley-Davidson® name on a tire is not just for branding. It ensures that the tire is designed to carry the proper load.

Yes, we know H-D® dealerships and other places that sell less expensive tires.

Yes, we know they are Dunlops.

Some folks even tell us, "I don't care if it has the Harley-Davidson® name on the tire - fits a Dunlop and its the proper size." You got us! We agree. It's a Dunlop and it's the proper size. But... and a big but before you go throwing a set of those other Dunlops on your bike, please, do the research. Is a Dunlop a Dunlop just because it fits? Don't believe us. Take it from the horse's mouth! Dunlop Motorcycling. While Wilkins Harley-Davidson® could sell them, we do not, for a big reason. Why? Often times those other tires are not designed to be on your bike and carry the rider, and passenger and gear on a heavyweight motorcycle. For instance, just because a D401 fits your Touring bike, does that mean you should put it on your Harley-Davidon® Street Glide? No! We see bikes in on trade quite often that were serviced elsewhere and they have a D401 Dunlop on the back of a Touring motorcycle. Guess how many miles were on the tire before it was spent? 4600. Don't run the risk, put the tire on your motorcycle that was designed to be on your motorcycle. You are not on 4 wheels anymore. Safety first.

Wilkins H-D® will never sacrifice your safety to earn a quick tire sale. Our accessory manager, Eric, gives us a quick overview on some of our tires.
