This time of year, we sell a great deal of Harley-Davidson® batteries. While we appreciate the sales, we also recognize that it is not a "happy sale." That is to say that our guests don't want to purchase a battery, they would rather purchase a product like a Harley Davidson® chrome exhaust or a set of Harley-Davidson® handlebars
With that said, we often see bikes coming in with an aftermarket battery because our guest wants to save money. We understand. We are customers too! Many of these aftermarket batteries often don't have the cranking amps needed for a Harley-Davidson6reg;. We believe in the Harley-Davidson® batteries since we know they have the proper cranking amps, they are designed to withstand the elements and they carry a one (1) year warranty.
What diminishes a battery? Believe it or not, heat can diminish a battery just as much as cold can. All batteries have a tendency to lose power every single day regardless of the conditions. How can we minimize that loss? Harley-Davidson® battery tenders are designed to change modes depending on what they sense for voltage and ampage. This change in modes helps prevent overcharging and keeps the battery at an optimum level for starting. While we recommend changing the battery every three (3) years, we also believe that using a battery tender helps prolong the life well beyond three (3) years.
The next time you need a battery, choose the Harley-Davidson® battery. Why run the risk of pressing the start button the next warm day and having your bike go "click-click-click" while your friends wait at the gas station for you?
