Thank you Northfield Savings Bank!

Thank you to the community banks that keep Vermont running!

Wilkins Harley-Davidson, a cornerstone of the riding community, recently received a sweet surprise from Cheryl, Chief Operating Officer of Northfield Savings Bank: multiple boxes of Dunkin' Donuts! This wasn't just a simple gesture of goodwill; it was a celebration of a well-deserved honor – 2024 Business of the Year from Central Vermont Economic Development Corp. (CVEDC) awarded by their Executive Director Melissa Bounty to Wilkins.

The award from CVEDC, a vital hub for local businesses, is a testament to Wilkins Harley-Davidson's unwavering commitment to serving the community.

As Wilkins Harley-Davidson continues to make its mark on the community, it's worth considering: Where would so many other local businesses be without the benefit of support from community banks like Northfield Savings Bank?

As John said during his acceptance speech,

"These banks have been instrumental in supporting businesses like ours, and they understand something larger banks simply don’t: one-to-one relationships matter. Community banks care about local businesses. They carve out the time to sit down, talk, and find solutions. That’s not what you get from the larger banks—they often don’t have the time or the interest to even discuss a small loan for a business like ours. In the early days, Harry and Barbara couldn’t walk into a big bank and expect help. But the community banks stepped in. Harry and Barbara relied on small loans—just enough to buy two leather jackets or a case of oil—and they had to pay those loans back before borrowing more. That’s how it worked, and that’s how Wilkins Harley-Davidson survived and grew."
